I.01 Balduina, Roma
A Roman apartment from the early 1960s located in the Balduina area was redesigned by Studio Alessandrelli_Pazienza for a couple of collectors. The site specific furnishings project was entrusted to Studio Giacomo Moor by the Giustini / Stagetti Gallery who selected the other furnishing elements together with the clients. Studio Moor’s intervention aims to create a line of continuity between the various rooms of the house, through different types of furniture. In the master bedroom, thin solid wood frames with a triangular section alternate with shelves, creating a bed and a screen equipped with a desk.
The same language, repeated at the entrance to the living area, defines a floor to ceiling bookcase that shields the view towards the dining table. A sequence of storage furniture of different sizes marks the other parts of the room, alternating with the sofas, conceived as platforms suspended on orthogonal planes. The essence used, ash wood, recurs in all the furniture, and is used both for its brightness, consistent with the selection of limited edition pieces in the Gallery, and for its extreme resistance when used in small sections. The sofas and armchairs on the terrace, again based on a site specific project by Studio Moor, interact with the basic module of the travertine flooring and reflect the style of the other furnishings, this time using teak, a wood resistant to atmospheric agents.
