H.01 Città Studi, Milano

Apartment in Città Studi, located in a building by architect Giovanni Mistretta built in the 70s. The intervention creates a visual and physical connection between the two environments, through a slender and rigorous grid in solid chestnut wood that designs the space and responds to different needs: in the living area it is the supporting skeleton of an opening window that connects the dining room with kitchen; along the staircase it transforms into a handrail to then become, on the upper floor, a balcony equipped with shelves.

The kitchen, characterized by a large exposed sink in Dekton, integrates silently into the space and the custom made chestnut handles take up the section of the joists of the other furnishings. The sofa, an aerial wooden platform, marks the walls opposite the window and alternates the seats with Kvadrat fabric upholstery with support surfaces. The space on the upper floor, a transition point between the common areas and the sleeping area, is designed as a large studio featuring a full wall desk, equipped with drawers, which intersects with a custom made daybed.
